Description

The IM-13 Mighty Marker® is built for one job most paint markers can't do: mark bare, unpainted metal so the mark stays visible after an oil-based primer goes on top. Its bleed-thru ink penetrates the primer layer instead of disappearing underneath it, so structural steel and metal fabrication layout marks remain readable straight through to the final topcoat.

The reversible nib pairs a 3.2mm bullet tip with a 4.8mm chisel edge, flip between them for fine detail or bold marking. A valve-action design keeps ink flowing consistently and prevents the marker from drying out if the cap is left off.

To stop the bleed-thru effect once marking is complete, seal marks with a water-based or alcohol-based sealant before final painting. Manufactured in the USA by Arro-Mark®, 70+ years of industrial marking craftsmanship.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this marker work on primed or painted metal?
No. It's built to mark bare, unpainted metal. The ink is designed to bleed through a later oil-based primer coat so the mark stays visible, not to mark over an existing coating.
How do I stop the bleed-thru effect once marking is done?
Seal the mark with a water-based or alcohol-based sealant before final painting to prevent further bleed-through.
